Vitamin shots are well tolerated by most people, but they're not for everyone. Here are a few important notes.
A quick shot, and you're on your way. Brief soreness, redness, or a small bruise at the spot is common and typically settles within a day or two.
You have a known allergy or sensitivity to vitamin B12, cobalt, or cobalamin — or you're currently pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
A history of liver disease, kidney disease, or Leber's disease (a hereditary condition affecting the optic nerve).
Metformin, acid reducers (like omeprazole or other PPIs and H2 blockers), and long-term antibiotics can affect B12 — mention them at check-in.
