Trends We Love this Fall

Well hello October….
Autumn doesn’t just change light, it changes the way faces are read. The air sharpens, the palette deepens, and suddenly the easy gloss of summer feels unfinished. In studio sessions right now, we’re seeing edits that feel less like decoration and more like definition—placements that reframe, finishes that soften or sharpen without demanding attention.

Here’s what we’re already noticing in Los Angeles, New York, and beyond:

Eyes That Frame Without Shouting

Softer lids tightlined with blurred bronze or matte umber, edges diffused into skin. The effect is less liner, more shadow—definition that looks accidental, lived-in.

Pair this with a lash lift + tint and the whole structure of the eye changes. Lashes rise and fan without mascara weight, while the smudged outline adds quiet drama.

Velvet Skin, Not Glass

Glossy high-shine skin has had its run. The new mood is velvet: matte but alive, dimensional without being dewy. Think skin that absorbs light in some places, reflects in others.

On set, this reads as more editorial; in studio it feels more wearable. For stylists, it means prepping with serums that hydrate without slip and powders that blur without flattening.

We’re loving:

Blurred Lips, Stained Not Painted

Sharp lip lines are giving way to diffusion. Oxblood, berry, muted rose—applied, then blurred at the edges. The look is “worn-in” rather than “just applied.” (Read: the GBY Lip Blush)

This lives in the same cultural lane as velvet skin: beauty that doesn’t try too hard, but still carries edge. It’s intimate, a little undone, but elevated.

Brow Architecture

Brows are being asked to do more with less. No heavy arches, no perfect carve-outs. Just feather, lift, tint—enhancing direction and movement rather than creating shape where none exists.

The brow lift + tint combo is carrying the season because it reads natural while still offering intensity. In the studio, it’s an edit that frames the entire face without competing with eye or lip work.

Making Trends Work in Your Practice

Here’s where it matters: spotting trends is one thing, integrating them into your flow is another.

  • Position edits as seasonal offerings. Frame a lash lift + blurred liner effect as a Fall Special. Clients read it as trend-forward, you keep control of the narrative.

  • Build packages that make sense. Offer “velvet skin prep + lip stain” as a service pairing. Keep it under Beauty Under 100 so new clients test without hesitation.

  • Content matters. Post the logic, not just the outcome. A reel showing why you smudge liner vs. painting it sharp educates and converts.
